The offseason thus far:
I'm going to borrow from a posting over at Vivaelbirdos.com, regarding the offseason moves teams have made so far... there's still plenty of time for lots more to happen, but we know for sure:
- The NY Yankees will be vastly improved next year, due to acquiring CC Sabbathia, AJ Burnett, and, probably the best hitter on the market this season, Mark Texeira. The Yankees won't be losers next year
- Oakland Athletics have traded for Matt Holliday, losing only Carlos Gonzalez
- San Francisco Giants signed Jeremy Affeldt and Bob Howry to bolster the bullpen, also picked up Perdomo in the Rule 5 draft from the Cards, signed Randy Johnson to complement a wicked one-two of Lincecum and Cain, and also signed one of the few shortstops around this offseason, the once-great Edgar Renteria
- NY Mets sign not one, but two shutdown pitchers to shore up their bullpen... they are called K-Rod and Putz
- St. Louis Cardinals trade Mark Worrell, who was acting like a spoiled brat, for Khalil Greene, slightly improving their shortstop position (that is, if he doesn't suck next season). They also signed several options from the left for their bullpen
- World Champs Philadelphia Phillies sign Raul Ibanez to replace Pat Burrell (bad defense for more bad defense)
