Well, to kick off my beer reviews, I'm going to go with the very solid
Lagunitas'
Cappuccino Stout. Beeradvocate.com ranks this beer as a B+, which I tend to agree with... but might, in the right mood, give an A-. First off, if you don't like coffee flavored beers, you probably won't like this. Then again, the coffee levels in this are far from overpowering... more in the mid-range to subtle side (basically, it still tastes like beer). The bottle simply has a small dog illustration (as you can see), and says Limited Release, meaning it's ready for October to December of 2008. This tasty stout is brewed with Sebastopol's Hard Core Coffee, which is a Colombian coffee.
My opinions after tasting this a few times are that it has a deep coffee flavor beneath the surface, and has a smooth, coffee aftertaste as well. The beer part is, simply, full-bodied but not that thick, and most notably, it's a good sipper. The price is not that high (which is why Lagunitas is currently my favorite brewer, they are among the best tasting beers around today, while not breaking the bank). I really can't find any reason why not to try this stuff, except maybe if you hate coffee. One of my favorite seasonals.
